My Jewelry Industry Twitter List

Michael Schechters Twitter Lists

UPDATED: I have changed the list over to GenNextJewelers Twitter account to make this list an industry source rather than a personal one.  All links have been changed to reflect this revision.

Twitter can be intimidating to try, especially if you do not know any users.  I know that it has high abandon rate, so it is my hope that Twitter’s new list feature will help the new and initiated jewelers to quickly find friends and colleagues with whom they can interact.

Several people have stressed concern about lists (here is a great article from Chris Brogan) as they can often exclude people.  While they have a point, I still believe this can be a fantastic tool for getting acclimated.

With this in mind, I have started creating a list of fellow Jewelry Industry people on Twitter.  You can find this list Twitter.com/GenNextJewelers/jewelers-on-twitter.  You can easily follow the list and begin to follow individuals who are relevant or familiar to you.  Be sure to follow me (and Gen-Next Jewelers) and say hello while you are at it!

If you are in the industry and currently use Twitter, but are not included on this list please reply to me on the @GenNextJewelers account or @MSchechter and I will be sure to add you.  Hopefully we can make this a comprehensive list for the industry.  If you have not given Twitter a chance or could not quite get your bearings, now is a great time to give it a shot.

If you have any questions let me know in the comments and I will be sure to get back to you!

  • Valuable thoughts and advices. I read your topic with great interest.
  • Thank you for compiling this list! It was a challenge to find industry professionals on Twitter when I started the @BenBridgeGirl account. Now newcomers will have this great guide! Michael, thank you for continuing to be such a wonderful source of information and support for all of us!
  • Thanks Veronica, first adapters in our industry really had to seek each other out. Hopefully lists will go a long way towards making jumping in to twitter easier on the uninitiated.

Appreciate the comment and it has been great connecting with you. Love what you are doing with Ben Bridge!
