HONORA was founded by my grandfather, Stanley Schechter, over 60 years ago. His vision was to create a brand that stands for quality and value within the jewelry industry. Under the guidance of our CEO (and my father), Joel Schechter, Honora has come to focus on supplying the very best Freshwater Cultured Pearls since they arrived on the market over 20 years ago.
In addition to our exciting and affordable Freshwater Cultured Pearls, HONORA also offers an exclusive collection of the finest South Sea Pearls available in both classic strands and in our unique designs.
HONORA offers exciting collections of pearl jewelry using the wide variety of shapes and colors of these freshwater pearls. In recent years HONORA has developed an array of colors that cannot be found anywhere else in the pearl world.
On a personal note, I have spent the past 8 years working with my family and co-workers at HONORA. In addition to creating some of the most exciting pearl jewelry around, I believe that HONORA has contributed to a major shift in the world of pearls. It was the goal of my father to embrace the affordable nature of Freshwater Cultured Pearls. He oversaw dramatic changes to our business in order to make pearls more available to cost-conscious consumers. It has been a real pleasure to hear some of our customers’ stories who felt that they would never be able to own pearls they were proud of.
